Who owes you how much, and how long it has been pending — tracked on your own device
A working credit ledger for Indian shops, traders, service businesses and freelancers. Record credit sales and part payments against each customer, see the unpaid money sorted into due-date buckets, print a clean A4 account statement, and send a polite WhatsApp reminder in one click — with the exact amount and your UPI ID already written. Everything lives in a single HTML file on your own device: no sign-up, no subscription, and it works with the internet switched off.

Most small businesses do not lose money on sales. They lose it on collections.
The notebook works until the notebook gets full. Then the udhaar page is somewhere in the middle, half the payments are written in the margin, and nobody can say which customer crossed 60 days last month. The result is predictable: money that is technically yours sits with someone else for months, and the follow-up happens only when cash gets tight — which is exactly when it is hardest to chase politely.
Udhaar Khata puts the same information in one place and makes the question answerable in one glance: who owes how much, since when, and what is the one message you should send today. It runs from a single HTML file on your own laptop or phone, so there is no monthly bill, no login, and no customer list leaving your device.
A complete, working credit ledger — not a template
Add each customer once with a phone number, a note and any opening balance carried over from your notebook. Their running balance sits at the top of their ledger.
Credit sale, payment received, and adjustment in either direction — so part payments, discounts and a forgotten old bill all land in the right place.
Give every credit sale a due date and the app sorts the unpaid money into five buckets: not due, 1–15, 16–30, 31–60 and 60+ days. Payments clear the oldest dues first, the way an accountant would.
Opens WhatsApp with a polite, ready-to-send message: customer name, business name, exact amount, today's date and your UPI ID. Rewrite the wording once in Settings.
A clean account statement for any customer — every entry, credit and paid columns, closing balance and the amount written out in words. Save as PDF and send it on WhatsApp.
Total outstanding, how much is overdue, collections this month, ageing distribution across all customers, top ten dues and a six-month credit-vs-collection view.
Export a balances sheet or a full entries sheet — the one to hand your accountant at the end of the quarter. Opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets.
One click downloads a single JSON file with everything. Restore it on a new phone or laptop in seconds. Your data never touches a server.
Billing apps in India typically run ₹149–₹699 a month or about ₹1,499 a year. This is one payment of ₹199 and it does not expire, does not need a login and does not have a free-plan limit.
Nothing is uploaded, no account is created and no analytics are collected. The ledger is a file on your own device, and it works with the internet switched off.
Not a GST suite, not a billing ERP. It tracks credit and chases it — the single task most small shops actually need help with.
One ZIP, four files, nothing else to buy
The complete ledger in one self-contained file. Double-click to open in your browser. No installer, no admin rights, no internet.
A twelve-part manual: first five minutes, daily workflow, what each entry type does, how ageing is calculated, reminder wording, printing, backups, CSV in Excel and troubleshooting.
For the day you just want to start entering customers without reading anything long.
One business, lifetime use, no resale. Plain English, seven clauses.
From download to your first reminder in about five minutes
Unzip the folder and double-click index.html. It opens in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari — on desktop or phone.
Settings → business name, your name, phone and UPI ID. That is what prints on statements and appears in reminders.
Name, phone, and the amount already pending from your notebook as the opening balance. One customer per row.
Add credit sales and payments as they happen. Every Monday, filter by Overdue, open each one and send the reminder.
What the screens look like and what each one gives you
Four headline numbers, then one row per customer with balance, a status pill (Due, Overdue 23d, Advance, Settled), last entry date and a WhatsApp button. Search by name or phone, or filter to Pending, Overdue, Settled and In advance.
Every entry oldest first with credit, paid and running-balance columns, the current balance in large type, and the amount in words underneath. The entry form sits alongside, so recording a payment takes four fields.
Ageing bars for all customers, top ten dues, six months of credit versus collections, and the three export buttons.
A4, black on white, your business header, the full ledger and a closing balance with the amount in words. Print it or save it as PDF from the print dialog.
Any business in India that gives goods or services on credit
The monthly khata, in a form you can search — and a statement you can hand over instead of an argument.
Dozens of retailers, each with part payments and credit periods. Ageing shows you exactly where the risk has moved.
Plumbers, electricians, tailors, AC technicians, photographers — job done, payment pending, follow-up forgotten.
Retainers and project balances tracked without a ₹499-a-month subscription for a handful of clients.
Plain, portable files — no lock-in
One ZIP containing a single self-contained HTML file, the guide, the quick-start text file and the licence. Unzips on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. No internet connection needed once downloaded; the file loads nothing from the web.
Print or save PDF statements from your browser. CSV exports for Excel and Google Sheets. JSON backup and restore to move data between devices.
In your browser's local storage on that device, under the key udhaar-khata-v1. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. Download a backup weekly and keep it in Google Drive.
It does not create GST tax invoices, file GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B, or compute tax. It is a credit ledger and a statement printer.
One purchase, one business, forever
Your purchase covers use in one business that you own or operate, on devices you or your staff use, for as long as you like. You may print statements and share CSV exports freely with your own customers and accountant. You may not resell, redistribute or republish the files, or use them to build a competing product. Full terms are in LICENSE.txt inside the ZIP.

UPI, cards, net banking & wallets — processed on PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
Everything you need to know before buying
A working app, not a book. You get a ZIP with a single index.html file — double-click it and it opens in your browser as a complete credit ledger. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
Yes. Once the folder is on your device, the ledger works with the internet switched off. The file loads nothing from the web.
In your browser's local storage on that device. Clearing browsing data, using a cleaner app or resetting the device will remove it, so the app has a one-click JSON backup and a matching restore. Download a backup every week and keep it in Google Drive — that is the whole safety net, and it takes ten seconds.
Every credit sale carries a due date (the entry date if you leave it blank). Payments are applied to the oldest dues first, the way most accountants do it. Whatever is still unpaid is then bucketed by how far past its due date it is: not due, 1–15, 16–30, 31–60 and 60+ days. The Reports screen totals every customer into the same five buckets.
No. Udhaar Khata is a customer credit ledger and a statement printer. It does not create tax invoices, file GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B, or compute GST. If you need GST invoicing, use a proper invoice tool alongside it.
Yes. Copy index.html to your phone, open it with Chrome, and use the browser menu to add it to your home screen. The layout adapts to a small screen, though entering many customers is faster on a laptop.
One purchase covers one business. For two separate sets of books, buy a second copy — or keep one file per shop, each with its own backup, and never open the same file from two different folders.
No. One-time ₹199, no monthly or yearly fee, no free-plan limits, no expiry.
