Four admission routes, one calendar, and the rules that decide each of them
A 35-page playbook for parents facing school admission in 2027-28. Four systems decide where Indian children go to school — private open seats, the RTE 25% free-seat quota, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya or Sainik School — and they run on four different calendars with four different selection rules. This book maps all four, with the dates, the documents, the points systems and the lottery orders, verified from the DoE, KVS, NVS and NTA documents themselves.

Nursery, LKG, UKG or Class I in 2027-28 — the points system, the December forms and the free-seat quota.
Class II and above, mid-year moves, transfer certificates and the offline vacancy routes nobody advertises.
The JNVST paper on 28 November, the AISSEE paper on 31 January, and what to do in the four weeks between.
The RTE 25% quota is free education to Class 8, including pre-school. Most eligible families never apply.
Six things that change the outcome, not six things that sound good
Every date with its status — fixed, awaited or expected — so you never plan around a date that was never announced.
Section 12(1)(c) decoded: who qualifies, the income ceilings, the lottery, the documents and the nine rejection traps.
Six Delhi schools' published criteria with their actual weightings, so you can compute your score before you apply.
Forty seats split across eleven lotteries in a fixed sequence — and why the sequence decides your odds.
JNVST's 80 questions and 1.25-mark arithmetic, AISSEE's 125 questions and 300 marks, and the pass lines that matter.
A JNVST-style practice set with a full answer key and one-line reasoning for every answer.
Eight parts, 39 numbered sections and three appendices
Four doors and who runs each, the whole 2027-28 calendar on one page with the status of every date, the 31 March age rule, and the four RTE Act sections that already protect you.
Twelve documents with where each one comes from and how long it takes, APAAR and PEN decoded, and the four document problems that quietly kill applications.
The published points system with real schools and real numbers, the 2026-27 cycle day by day, how to pick six schools with your score in hand, the seven form mistakes, and the appeal that works.
The free seat most families never claim, Delhi's EWS, DG and CWSN route step by step, how to find your state's portal, and nine reasons RTE applications get rejected.
Who actually gets in and why priority is not eligibility, forty seats split across eleven lotteries, the Class I window and its documents, Balvatika, and the offline vacancy route.
What a JNV gives your child, the JNVST 2027 paper section by section, the district rule that catches families out, the rural quota and tie-break ladder, and a four-week plan to 28 November.
What a Sainik School is and is not, what is confirmed for AISSEE 2027 and what is not, the 300-mark Class VI paper, applying without losing your candidature, and the counselling that follows.
Four routes compared, three families worked end to end, a dated ninety-day plan, twelve questions to ask the school, the scams, and a one-page action card for the fridge.
What this book does, and what it deliberately refuses to do
Delhi's 2027-28 circular and the AISSEE 2027 bulletin had not been issued on 28 October 2026. The book says so, and gives you the previous cycle's day-by-day schedule as the pattern instead.
Four of the five selection mechanisms here are draws nobody controls and the fifth is a written test your child sits alone. What you get is a place in every draw you qualify for, on time, with the right papers.
35 pages, 39 sections, three appendices. No filler chapters, no repeated tables, no motivational paragraphs about how important education is.

Four: private unaided schools through their published points system, the RTE 25% free-seat quota, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Navodaya or Sainik School through the JNVST and AISSEE entrance tests. The Delhi private-school and RTE chapters are the most detailed because Delhi is the one large system with a fully published, centrally run process; the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya and Sainik chapters are national.
Yes. Three of the four routes are national — Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya and Sainik School — and the RTE chapter explains the statutory right that applies in every state, plus how to find your state's portal and check the three things that differ. Only the points-system chapter is Delhi-specific, and it is there because no other state publishes its criteria.
Partly. Two things are fixed: the JNVST 2027 exam on 28 November 2026, and the AISSEE 2027 exam on 31 January 2027. Delhi's 2027-28 circular and the AISSEE 2027 bulletin had not been issued when this was written on 28 October 2026, and the book says so plainly instead of inventing dates. Where a cycle is awaited, you get the previous cycle's day-by-day dates as the pattern to plan against.
Free coverage of these admissions is full of fabricated notification dates, recycled last-year schedules and fee tables that were never announced. Every date, fee and eligibility rule here comes from a government document or portal read on or before 28 October 2026, and every fact that could not be verified was left out. The source list is printed at the end of the book.
Yes. Appendix A is a 40-question practice set written to the JNVST 2027 syllabus and Class V level — 20 arithmetic questions and 20 mental ability and EVS questions — with a full answer key and a one-line explanation for every answer.
