Yes. The Act applies to the processing of digital personal data by anyone who decides why and how it is processed, and there is no size threshold. If you hold names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, Aadhaar or PAN details, financial or health information, or employee records in digital form, it applies to you. The playbook shows exactly what that means for a business your size.
Yes. Every date, penalty, section and rule comes from an official source — the DPDP Act, 2023, the DPDP Rules, 2025, MeitY notices, the Gazette of India, PIB releases and Lok Sabha answers — as they stood in October 2026. Where something is an expectation rather than a notification, the playbook says so plainly, so you never act on a guess.
The Act makes no distinction between B2B and B2C. A company that holds only the data of its employees, vendors and their representatives is still a Data Fiduciary with the same core duties. The playbook covers the employment ground in Section 7(i) and the employee-data chapter in the appendices.
Full Data Fiduciary obligations begin on 13 May 2027. The Consent Manager milestone is 13 November 2026. The playbook treats 2026 as your build year, with a 90-day sprint and a month-by-month 2027 calendar so you are ready well before the deadline.
No. The playbook gives you the templates, checklists and steps to do the work yourself. It is practical guidance, not legal advice — and it tells you the few situations where you should engage a qualified data-protection lawyer.
